HI, i’m Kate Marlene
I am dedicated to helping individuals and couples heal in their relationships, resolve conflict, and move forward with confidence and clarity.
I know that relationships impact all aspects of life from personal well-being, to emotional stability, and financial security. Healing relationships is also the gateway to healing ourselves.
My passion is working with individuals and couples around the issues that hold them back, together and separately.

My Story
Before I was married or had children, I was a family law attorney. I worked as a divorce lawyer at a big law firm and at a legal aid clinic for survivors of domestic abuse. At that time I could only understand from a distance the way that conflicted relationships, abuse, or the end of marriage impacted my clients. Understanding the law did not give me the emotional depth or experience to hold space for my clients, or even have the time to engage in the healing and negotiation process.
Years later while navigating my own marital conflicts and divorce, I realized that while lawyers do not have the emotional capacity for healing, many therapists are unable to negotiate some of the immediate and practical aspects of separation. Our many couples’ therapists were unwilling to see the facts and the conflict and help guide through the divorce. My own experience taught me how much individuals and couples need both emotional and personal support as well as practical and solution-oriented direction when facing conflict or the breakdown of a marriage..
This experience led me to my own training as a therapist/couples counselor, as well as a relationship and divorce coach.
With expertise in relational conflict and training, I am able to read situations quickly, understand conflict, break down barriers, and help both individuals and couples see the situation with transparency.
I have often found in couples counseling that the problems between a couple are indicative of the personal growth necessary for one or both parties. Being in relationships can teach us about ourselves and the end of a relationship can serve as a rich ground for healing and personal growth. As a coach, I will help both parties see their part and identify what individual work might benefit the relationship.

“I have been there. But now I see with perspective and clarity from a distance.”
work with me
Resolve your relationship conflicts.
Navigate every stage of your relationship with confidence.
Heal yourself to find love again.
Save money and time during divorce.
Whether you are looking to repair within a couple, deciding whether to stay or go, or healing after a break-up, I can help you find your truth, restore your hope, and establish a vision for the future.
Not all relationships will last forever, (most will not), and I believe that the ending of a relationship is simply part of the love/life cycle. As a relationship and divorce coach, I believe that healing and truth should take precedent over external pressures, norms or expectations, and I will help couples recognize their individual and shared value systems and achieve the best outcome together or separately.
For parents with shared children, custody and parental agreements with established boundaries and respect can help pave the way to a thriving co-parenting or parallel parenting relationship (I can help you decide which is best for you!)
